I had a whole set of ideas queued up about the State of the Union address/disaster. But then suddenly – we’re at war with Iran.
It’s hard for a cartoonist or anyone commenting on current events to make fun of anything to do with our troops being at war and in harm’s way and reports of casualties coming in all the time. But clearly, it’s fair game to mock the most likely decision making that went on in Trump’s world.
First, this is scary. Trusting Pete Hegseth with life and death decision making.
And we know there were advisors that objected.
But Trump went ahead with the strikes anyway. Was it to distract from the Epstein files? Or because Bibi leaned on him for Israel? Trickles of the truth are coming out but we’ll never know.
I thought having Colin Powell come back would lend some sanity to the situation. But lessons learned from history is clearly not one of Trump’s strong suits.
